Burleigh Beach on the Gold Coast is a well known surfing venue and attracts many tourists hosting major surfing tournaments such as the Quicksilver Pro. Fishing is popular along Currumbin Creek which has a boat ramp in the parkland adjacent the Thrower Drive Bridge.
